How to Use:
-Shake well before use.
-Dispense a quarter-size amount into palms.
-Apply to skin like a serum.
-Best applied to clean, bare skin.
-If your skin is dry, you can apply a silicone-free moisturizer, serum, or oil first.
-Upon application, your shade will appear lighter to guide you in applying SPF.
-After 30 to 60 seconds, the formula will dry down and adjust to its true tone.
-For a less-dewy finish, set with ILIA’s Soft Focus Setting Powder (sold separately).
-Because the formula contains no added fragrance, you may notice the natural scent of the ingredients. This scent will fade after application.

Hate to love it
The scent is unpleasant, and the bottle leaks everywhere; however, the product itself is amazing. Ilia, if you are reading this, please change the packaging.

Wouldn’t recommend
Not great — weird smell, watery consistency, and peels after a couple of hours even on top of primer.

Wanted to love, but it’s just not good!
I really really wanted to love this product. I researched a lot before I got it. It’s not horrible, but it has light coverage and a somewhat watery consistency. I did get it to work but I had to let it dry a bit and then blend to built to cover my subtle imperfections. When I used a foundation brush very lightly with good technique you could still see brush strokes and I had to pat it out with a beauty blender. This would not work for oily skin at all. Dry is ok but still overly slippery. The comments about the chemical smell are true. I tried to overlook it bc I wanted to like it so much but I have to say it’s not pleasant. I wish I could give it a 4/5 but it’s decidedly a 3. Going to look again - maybe Hourglass or Chantecaille will work better.

Skip
Lots I could say here. Transfers like crazy, no longevity (<5 hrs), oxidizes to orange, packaging leaks EVERYWHERE. Super patchy even when set with powder and spray

Insanely leaky packaging. 3/3 bottles have leaked.
I love the product itself; it’s sheer and lightweight yet has great coverage. However, the packaging is insanely leaky. I’m on my third bottle now after about six months yet, I do believe every time I’ve only used about used 50% to 75% of the product because the rest of it leaks if it’s stored sideways. For me, it’s kind of unrealistic to not be able to put my foundation in my makeup bag. I have to keep it stored in a Ziploc bag to catch the foundation that spills everywhere- no matter how tight you tighten the bottle lid. I love the product, but the packaging is such a dealbreaker. For how much money you have to spend for this foundation to only be able to use half of it is not realistic.

Want to love!
The product works amazingly well. The major problem is the smell! It's almost to the point I can barely stand to wear it. If they could make this product not smell it would be 5 stars and I would recommend to everyone I know.

Coverage is too light
The suggested color is too light for my skin. Also the coverage is non existent. I love the dewyness but can't justify the cost with zero coverage. I am sending it back. It doesn't have a smell as others reviewed.

Awful smell + peels
Really disappointed with this. Peels with skincare, has the most awful smell, and doesn’t last. I actually broke out after using and it doesn’t even have much coverage. Bummed out by this and by the price! Not worth it.

Separating, caking & creasing!
I wanted so much to love this product as it had SPF included in the formula but for a dry skin like mine, this did not work even though it is very oily formula. Right after the application it started separating, caking and creasing. Made my skin look very dry and shiny at the same time!

love the product but shea butter is not acne safe!
I love the product and the spf foundation combo idea!!! Its the perfect beauty product for the times! Its just not noncomedegenic and not acne safe! It's so sad that all the clean beauty brands are using shea butter and coconut oil and vitamin e and cetaryl alcohol!!! why? I wish they could be like Geek and Gorgeous in and be not only be acne safe (as well as fungal acne) but also, Essential.oil free fragrance free and Malassezia safe! Paula's Choice (Paula Begoun) began her brand in the 80s, and 90s with her great Beauypedia blog criticizing the beauty industry brands for not creating irritant free, essential oil free, noncomedegenic, and safe packaging. We need her to revive that to hold companies accountable for their ingredients choices.

Am I the only person that hates this stuff? First off it smells SO BAD. Idk if I got a defective bottle or what. But the smell makes me nauseous. I appreciate that it's SPF 40 and has zinc oxide. But it separates almost immediately after I put it on my face. And gives me these super weird dry flaky patches. Not matter how much I moisturize beforehand. And I also don't have dry skin. This seems to be the only product that does this to me.

Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 30 Skincare Foundation
Broke me out and earthy odor
Accentuates dry patches and broke me out. I got several white heads on my chin and between my brows. I was hoping this would be a great winter foundation, but I'm not sold on the finish. It's dewy but pigment sticks to dry flakes more so that Ilia True Skin, which i prefer over this. The Super Serum also has a muddy, earthy odor. I'm the shade Sable in True Skin and Tulum in Super Serum was the recommended shade according to Ilia's site, but it was a little too light despite the foundation oxidizing.
